The Pinnacle has been a Tampa landmark since its opening in 1975. Built from the post-modern design of well-known architect, Lee Scarfone, his design earned an award from The Florida Architect Magazine in 1976. The developers chose The Pinnacle as the name for two reasons: It was the tallest residential building in Tampa at the time, and it sits on the highest elevation on Bayshore. Its elevation reduces risks of flooding.
